Replacement Wiper

The factory fitted wiper uses SWF wiper, which considerably work ok.

Then, replaced it with AC Delco Beam Wiper Blade, which curved onto the windscreen. The pair bought from Lotte Mart, Seoul Station.

Now, using GM OEM wiper bought from Hatyai SC.

D.I.Y - Gear Shift Loose

This is considered a common problem for Nabira/Zafira , when suddenly you feel a sense of loose when shifting gear. Later, the problem exergerated to a level where engaging gear is no more posibble.
If this happen, you can still rectify the problem temporarily until proper repair been done to the gear cable. There are options for this, you can opt for a cheaper solution or hopelessly ask mechanics to fix it, which a much more expensive.
It happens to me already, and fortunately I get a cheaper option. Instead of changing the defective gear cable with a new unit, I replaced only the plastic bush with a teflon bush.
1. After removing the battery unit and battery tray, you can see the gear shift lever attached with gear cable socket.
In this condition, the black plastic bush has already gone.

2. The gear cable socket detached from gear lever knob, which makes shifting gear is not possible.

3. Close look of gear cable socket without the black plastic bush.

4. Instead of replacing the whole gear cable with a new unit, you can just replace the bush with a teflon bush which is much more durable to excessive heat of Malaysian weather.

5. Just fix the bush back onto the gear lever knob and then re-installed the gear cable socket onto the teflon bush. With this option, you can saved a considerable amount of money as compared to replacing with a new unit of gear cable.

6. This is the gear bush drawing prepared after reverse engineering process...(the drawing is not from GM, instead this is owned prepared, will not be responsibled if there is a tolerancing issue which might cause a miss fit after machining).

Vauxhall Sunglasses Holder

Vauxhall sunglasses holder bought from lmfvauxhall fits nicely on the driver side roof handle area. Installation wise is relatively easy, but you need to get a butterfly wall plug and size 6 x 1" screw to secure it properly. These items were not supplied together with the holder.

1. Remove the roof handle cover by using a flat screw driver (you don't need to remove the weatherstrip to install the holder).

2. You need to have these butterfly wall plugs and screw to fasten the holder to the roof.
3. Fix the wall plug into the oblong hole on the roof, and install the holder properly by using the screws.
4. The sunglasses holder finally in place.

DIN 72 MF AC Delco Battery & Voltage Display

My forth battery replacement in 4 years span. Opted for DIN72 instead of normal DIN66 battery. The 1st battery lasted for 2yrs with good record and then replaced it with GP Atlas MF battery. However, the 2nd battery dies after 8 months without prior warning. Fortunately, I managed to get a warranty claim and used the same type of GP Atlas for another 11 months before decided to switch to AC Delco DIN 72.

Installed a voltage meter display unit as an extra precaution.

Heko Wind Deflector/ Door Visor

Heko wind deflector/door visor is really helpful as it allows you to leave the doors' window slightly open when parking at open space during hot sunny day. It gives you worry free in case of sudden downpour might cause the car interior wet. In addition, what most importantly is that your cabin temperature can be lowered as hot air can move out thru the opening.

Besides, Heko wind deflector looks more stylist and used no adhesive for installation. Instead, set of clips were placed inside the glass groove to secure it properly. For sure, once been installed properly, it is quite difficult to remove and this is a deterrent for any act of stealing from happening.

Bilstein Front & Rear Shock Absorbers

Bilstein B4 shock absorbers are waiting to be installed. Current original GM shock is fast losing its effectiveness after approximately 4 years in service.

Front Shock Absorbers - Part No: F4-VNE-A660-BGC (Left) & -VNE-A661-BGC (Right)
Rear Shock Absorbers - Part No: F4-BNE-A662-BGC (Left & Right are common)

Both front and rear shock absorbers were finally installed at ecotec yesterday.
1. Removing the cowl top trim to get access to front strut mounting.
2. Front and Rear shock absorbers are ready to be replaced.

3. New Bilstein B4 after installation

In Car Entertainment

The factory fitted headunit of Clarion model DB336MP is a FM tuner/CD/MP3, which is considerably enough to fulfill day to day needs for in car entertainment. But, when comes to kids request for a movie viewing during long journey trip, then replacing the headunit suddently comes into equation.

Clarion DB336MP

Due to Nabira centre console design not allowing 2DIN type headunit to be fitted, options available now are roof fitting unit, shade fitting unit or headrest fitting unit. I choose to install a motorized single DIN headunit fitted to the centre console instead.

In addition to changing the headunit, the speaker units were replaced with VOZ speakers (4 units 6" diameter & 4 units tweeters).
